City marks continued progress as more families receive homes in Dido Valley

The City of Cape Town’s Human Settlements Directorate has handed over more homes to beneficiaries at the Dido Valley housing development. The R170 million Dido Valley housing project will benefit residents from the Redhill in Simon’s Town as well as the Luyolo community.

‘The City’s historic and mega Dido Valley housing project will deliver 600 housing opportunities for beneficiaries. The project is assisting residents from the Redhill informal settlements and the Luyolo restitution community.

‘Our teams have worked hard to deliver these opportunities and we celebrate with the families as they move into their new homes. The City will continue to hand over opportunities as homes are completed and we look forward to celebrating with many more beneficiaries and their families over the coming months as the project reaches completion. Progress on site remains on track and our teams anticipate the full completion of the project in June 2028, if all goes to plan,’ said the Mayoral Committee Member for Human Settlements, Councillor Carl Pophaim.

The City reiterates that City housing opportunities are free and qualifying residents will never be asked to pay for placement on the City’s Housing Needs Register, or for allocation of housing opportunities as well as for any related housing service.
